Greetings!

We are so delighted that you have taken time out of your day to peruse our site. We hope you will consider exhibiting some of your art work or stop by and enjoy the exhibit. Either way we look forward to meeting you.

Thru God's Eyes Community Art Exhibit has been a dream in the making for 10 years. We are very blessed that Stade's Farm in McHenry has graciously offered to co-host the exhibit. It is a truly beautiful place and it will be the perfect setting to see inspirational works of art that Glorify God and God's creation.

Thru God's Eyes seeks to remind people that we live in a  beautiful and loving world. Every day we are inundated with tragic stories in the media. "Thru God's Eyes" hopes to remind people that in the midst of all the difficulties there is still beauty, there is love, there is grace, there is hope and that God walks through all of it with us.

The book of Genesis tells the story of how God created the heavens and the earth and each time he created something he said, "It is good." Genesis 1:31 tells us that when God was finished, "God saw all that he had made, and it was very good" and indeed it is. We are called to remember this goodness on a daily basis, to find the blessings in the difficulty, to see beauty, to find hope during dark times, to give encouragement and love, to do our best each day and to walk in faith.

Mission Statement

"Mending the web, healing the heart; reconnecting the world through service, spirit and art."

The "web" refers to the idea that we are all connected - people, plants, animals, and so on. Every life touches something and when we touch something we influence it or affect it - either positively or negatively. Our connectedness can be broken in so many ways, such as harsh words, lying, abuse and so on.

When we mend the web we seek to remind people that they are connected and that they can love, encourage and inspire each other. When we are kind and loving, when we care for each other, we heal each others hearts and souls. Essentially we "reconnect" and every time we heal a relationship we strengthen the whole world, because our lives influence the lives of others.

We do acts of service for others, because it is another way of healing the web. At this event attendees will have an opportunity to paint quilt squares, which will be sewn into quilts for foster children. Sharing the love of many lets these children know that there are people in the world who truly care about them and believe they can overcome the difficulties in their lives. It reminds them that they are worthy. It gives them the gift of HOPE.

Spirit refers to the trinity - the Holy Spirit, God, Jesus Christ. For it is through God that all goodness and mercy comes. God is the great healer and connector. When we remind people that God loves them, we reconnect them to their life source.

Art reminds us of our God given creativity and our potential to co-create beauty, joy, compassion and love.

Calling ALL Inspired Artists!!!

The definition of the word art actually means "created by human endeavor not by nature". When we think of "art" in these terms we can begin to see that our whole lives are works of art and that we are all creative beings.

Thru God's Eyes  invites and encourages artists of all ages and experience levels to participate; we acknowledge and appreciate the creative process in everyone.

Consider for a minute the young child just learning to draw who happily scribbles and with much delight says, "Look mom! It's you!" This is serious art making. It is a form of self-expression.

We welcome everyone's inspirational art - from the beginner, beginner all the way to the experienced expert.

If you want to express your creativity and contribute to the good of the world,
if you want to inspire and encourage others,
if you want to remind people of beauty, love, or hope - then this exhibit is for you!

St. Teresa of Avila said,
"Christ has no body on earth but yours, no hands but yours, no feet but yours. Yours are the eyes through which Christ's compassion for the world is to look out; yours are the feet with which He is to go about doing good, and yours are the hands with which He is to bless us now."
